About Adrian

Drummer Adrian d'Souza works with New York jazz vocalist Roseanna Vitro and guitarist Chieli Minucci of Special EFX. Adrian also works with GlobalUnity and Interplay .

Through his colorful interactive style with musicians on the bandstand, he has created texture for a veritable 'who's who' in the jazz world :
Art Davis, Eddie Gomez, Joe Temperly, Ken Werner, Ratzo Harris, Gary Bartz, John Hicks, Eddie Daniels, Ed Cherry, Mark Soskin, Dave Kikoski, Don Braden, Gerald Veasley, Paul Keller, Chuck Bergeron, Jerry Brooks, Ron Jackson, Bruce Arnold, Shelly Berg, Jay Rodrigues and Mike Orta.

Adrian performed with Al Jarreau, George Duke, Earl Klugh and Ravi Coltrane at the 2005 Vh1 Jazz Masters, and has had successful performances in Slovenia with the 'Maribor Philharmonic Orchestra' featuring Roseanna Vitro.

He was invited by the 'World Philharmonic Jazz Orchestra and big band' to perform in South Africa for the United Nations - World Summit on Sustainable Development. Adrian is a member of the International Association of Jazz Educators (NY).

Born in Bombay, he started his musical pursuits at the age of four and became the proud possessor of his trap set at six, performing on national radio and TV. Adrian earned his Bachelors degree in Economics from the University of Bombay.

Later, acting on Roseanna Vitro's advice, and seeking a haven from the commercial pressures on musicians in Bombay he left for New York in 1997. The city offered him the opportunity to study and play with many musicians, developing his ability to play in multiple styles of music. In 1999, while gigging in Memphis, he met Peter Erskine at the University of Memphis and was quick to study with him.

As a composer, Adrian has scored the music for various Ad films, theatre productions and corporate theme songs. His recent projects are 'Uncovered' , 'Your Money' , 'Being' and 'Criminal' for CNBC / TV18.
